Waitlist privacy policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
This page describes how we handle your data when you join the Ekkooz waitlist. We keep it deliberately simple, because we deliberately collect very little. For the app itself we will publish its own, more extensive privacy policy at launch.
Who is responsible
Ekkooz is a product of Bootstrapper B.V., based in the Netherlands. We are the data controller for the waitlist data. For anything privacy related you can reach us at privacy@ekkooz.com.
What data we collect
When you join the waitlist we only collect:
- your email address,
- which page you signed up through (the waitlist for loved ones or the waitlist for recovery),
- the language of the page and the moment of sign-up and confirmation.
Nothing more. We do not ask for your name, nor your situation, and nothing about what you or someone around you is dealing with.
Why we are extra careful here
We realise that even joining this waitlist can feel like something personal. So this is how we handle it: your sign-up says nothing about you or about anyone else, and the emails you receive from us are worded neutrally. No list name or role appears in your inbox, only that you want to stay informed about Ekkooz.
What we use your data for
For exactly one thing: informing you about the arrival of Ekkooz, including the founding member offer at launch. The legal basis is your consent, which you give through the confirmation email (double opt-in). Without your click on that confirmation you are not signed up.
What we explicitly do not do
- We do not sell your data and never will.
- We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing.
- We show no advertising and do no profiling.
- This website uses no tracking cookies and no analytics services.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored within the European Union. We work with two service providers:
- Brevo processes the sign-ups and sends our emails, on servers in the EU. Brevo is a processor and acts solely on our instructions.
- Cloudflare hosts this website. As with any website, the hosting provider briefly processes technical data such as your IP address to serve the page and protect it against abuse.
How long we keep your data
Until the communication around the launch is complete, or until you unsubscribe if that comes first. If you unsubscribe, we remove you from the list. If you want to be removed from our systems entirely, email privacy@ekkooz.com and we will take care of it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Unsubscribing takes one click via the link in every email, and for everything else a short message to privacy@ekkooz.com is enough. If you feel we are not handling your data properly, you can file a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. For substantial changes we will also let you know by email.
Questions
Questions about this policy or about your data? Email privacy@ekkooz.com. You will get an answer from a human.
